€20,000 for ‘Die Tafel Österreich’

In 2024, a special fundraising campaign was launched to mark the 20th anniversary of WINWIN: for every coffee sold at the 20 WINWIN outlets across Austria, 20 cents were donated to Tafel Österreich. The result: a total of €20,000 was collected and presented in January 2025.

Focus on food waste and poverty

Climate protection and social commitment are important issues for WINWIN. In 2024, the year of the anniversary, WINWIN also focused on two additional topics: food waste and poverty in Austria. The campaign, in which 20 cents of every coffee sold was donated to ‘Die Tafel Österreich’, is an effective way of helping to combat these social challenges.

Responsible gaming for a more sustainable future

As part of Austrian Lotteries, WINWIN offers gaming with responsibility and entertainment at the highest level with a unique concept of modern slot machines and a regional as well as high-quality gastronomic offer. Climate protection and social commitment are also important concerns. Erwin van Lambaart, CEO of Austrian Lotteries: ‘Responsible behaviour is always our top priority, both in terms of gaming, for example with the highest possible level of player protection, but also beyond that as an important partner for society in the fields of sport, culture and social services throughout Austria. Our employees also live this responsibility and in 2024, as part of the WINWIN anniversary, they helped us to support Die Tafel Österreich in its valuable work.’

Tafel Österreich

Dr. Alexandra Gruber, managing director of Tafel Österreich, is delighted with the support: ‘Since 1999, we have been rescuing food that is still fit for consumption and providing it free of charge to people affected by poverty in social institutions throughout Austria. Every year, more than 1 million tonnes of food are thrown away, while 420,000 people in our country suffer from severe food poverty. We are grateful for the commitment of WINWIN and the generous donation, which helps us to build an important bridge between abundance and need and to draw attention to these injustices.’
